Hackers trying to access your current data aren’t the only threat to your business. Some will also try to exploit vulnerabilities found in discarded data and equipment. Simple document shredders and hard drive deletions aren’t enough. Determined thieves can sort and reassemble shredded paper strips. Additionally, in the same way you can benefit from data recovery of lost or deleted files, hackers can pull information from old hard drives. You need secure data destruction that renders your information completely inaccessible and unusable.
Pinnacle Technology Services uses data-destruction procedures that meet or exceed the latest government standards. We travel to your site to perform services or collect materials, and we’re also equipped to handle secure or classified information that can’t leave your facility. If needed, we’ll document the chain of data custody for your records.
For paper and disposable media, such as tapes, ID badges, CDs and more, we shred and crosscut the materials into bits too small to reassemble or use in any manner.
For reusable media, such as internal or external hard drives, DVR drives and memory sticks, we use overwriting techniques, erasure and multiple passes to remove information, ensuring that it can’t be recovered. We comply with DOD protocols with up to seven clearing passes.
If you’re not interested in keeping reusable media and don’t want anyone else to reuse it, we’ll destroy and shred the physical material to where it can’t be accessed in any way.
PTS secure data-destruction services are available in Salinas, San Jose and throughout the Monterey Bay area.
Note: PTS recycles shredded paper.
